A Fruitful Independence Day

I'm back again with another card and I just have to say that I had an awful lot of fun creating this one, even if it isn't exactly as I originally envisioned.  It took a few unexpected turns along the way, but now that it's done I really can't imagine it any other way.

One of the reasons I'm so proud of this one is because I pretty much created everything, with the exception of the gorgeous DigiStamp from Saturated Canary of course!

The red & blue background papers are digital weaves that I created in PSP and printed out on X-Press Blending Cardstock.  The stained glass like weave was created using a program called Eye Candy (it was also printed out on X-Press Blending Cardstock).

I created an apple in PSP, printed it out on  Cryogen Luxury Iridescent Cardstock 89 lb, colored it with my Copics,  scanned it back into my computer, resized it duplicated it, printed some on Shrinky Dink Paper and some on X-press It Blending Cardstock - which was used between the white grossgrain ribbon.

I also created the Scrabble tiles, taking some liberties as there aren't any "number" tiles in Scrabble, printed them on Shrinky Dink Paper for Inkjet Printers, punched 1/8" holes on both ends with my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and baked them according to the package instructions (3 minutes @ 275 degrees).  I attached them to each other with black thread, and to the card with Recollections Pop Squares (cut in half).

There are so many things that I think of when I see this card, but the unifying theme is of God & Country.  As fitting for a Sunday School Teacher as it would be for a Military member and/or their spouse... or anyone who makes you feel better having known them.

Recipe:

Papers:  My own, created in PSP and printed out on X-Press Blending Cardstock.

Embellishments:  Scrabble Tiles & Apples - Shrinky Dinks, Apple Strip - mine, White Grossgrain Ribbon - Celebrate it 360, White Cardstock Oval - Recollections from my stash..
