Bathing Beauty Floats On

 I can't believe it's been over a week since I posted here.
I knew my crafting time would be greatly diminished this week,
but I didn't think it would be this bad.

With the weather finally warming back up again it's the perfect time for a summer card!
When I first started using Copics and coloring DigiStamps (back in mid February), I was fortunate enough to stumble upon Tiddlyinks.

Bathing Beauty was one of the first DigiStamps I ever owned.  I simply adore the image and at this point in my life I must admit that I would love it if this style came back in fashion!

Lovely in White

Well, here I am with another card colored, cut, designed and assembled in just 4 days!
And I'm already thinking about what I want to do next (though my crafting time will be greatly limited in the coming week).  I never knew card making was so addictive!

As I continue to learn how my Copics work (I picked up my first Sketchers 4 months ago), I tend to choose something that will challenge me further - be it the subject or the color scheme.  This time, though the hair in this image is daunting to say the least, that was not my conscious challenge, the color was my challenge.

I had done a little bit of white before, a glimpse of a T-shirt here, a ball of kitty fur there, but it was never the central color in the image.  That's why when Saturated Canary issued a "Show Us Your Lovely" Challenge I just knew I had to do that gorgeous gown in all white.  If for no other reason than to see if I could.  What do you think?

The sketch comes from The Sketchy Challenges and is by Kylie Keuter.

Fabulous Pricilla Pie

Hello! I know I should be working on building up the backbones of this site
but I just can't seem to pull myself away from my Copics and the beautiful Digi Stamps from Saturated Canary. Krista creates such amazing stamps.

I absolutely love coloring them and, for whatever reason, I seem to find that lot of them either resemble, or would be perfect for, someone I know.
This is one of those images.

Meet Pricilla Pie from Saturated Canary.
I kept looking at her every time I was over at Krista's store - she sooo reminded me of one of our employees, I just knew I had to get it and work it up for her.

I'm still just starting out, as far as card making goes, so I don't really have a huge stash of stuff to use.  Thankfully  I do have a pack of Shrinky Dinks so when I need just the right

Honey Moo USA - A Special Thank You

I really didn’t set out to enter another challenge so quickly, but I have had the basic concept of this card running around my brain for a little while now and believe it conveys the spirit of the Saturated Canary Challenge #44 – Hair that is different.

I was fairly solemn this Memorial Day, respectfully so, as it fell on May 26th – my Father’s Birthday. And although he didn’t pass during the war he did serve in the Navy during WWII and even learned to play the trumpet.

Drafted or not I still marvel at the courage of our military. My family is a 3 generation Naval Family. My Father, my Brother and my Nephew have all served their country honorably and I couldn’t be prouder.

I originally combined the cow (an image I had purchased from ClipArtOf.com) with Saturated Canaries Honey after a friend requested it for a custom birthday card recently.

In this card however I like to think the cow represents the American Heartland.

Mousey Mo Goes Camping & Makes the Top 3!

Saturated Canary has some of the most wonderful digi stamps!  This one is Mousey Mo and it's easy to see why she is one of my favorites - you can't help but smile when you look at her - no matter how you choose to color her!

This was originally posted last week on a new blog that I set up.  It was meant to be my main craft blog, but it didn't work out that way.  For numerous reasons I decided my main Craft blog would be here on BlogSpot, so naturally I wanted to showcase this little girl cause not only was she a part of the first Card Challenge that I ever entered (Saturated Canary Challenge #43 - Emerald), and one of my favorite digi stamps to work with, but she made the Top 3!  I was so excited it took me over a week to choose my prize - lol.

From the original post:
I used the Saturated Canary DigiStamp – Mousey Mo & combined it with the Campfire background from the the Camping Digi. I cut the background into an oval, added another oval underneath it and ruffed some Recollections Washi Tape in between them. I cut out my colored Mousey Mo image and attached it with some Pop Dots.

The Emerald Green Ribbon was from Celebrate It 360 and the image was colored with Copics. Sorry but I’m still new at this (picked up my first Copics in February), and forgot to jot down which markers I was using.
The purple cardstock is from a Martha Stewart Pack I picked up on clearance awhile back. The Black Dot Paper was from a Recollections Black & White 240 Sheet Paper Pack. The Card base was a Recollections Card Blank.

Hmmm  after adding card creating to my world of art I quickly came to understand why so many use Blogger instead of simply installing  WordPress on their own sites (like I usually do with my fine art and custom portraits and will continue to do).

So with that understanding I have decided to return to Blogger (I had a commentary site briefly in 2008) for my Craft Room.  I don't want to move the few posts I have on my other site as one of them is still involved in a challenge, so I will link to those posts from here and going forward I will be posting here first.

I am looking forward to becoming a part of the wider community as I continue on my crafting journey.
